It was a meeting almost impossible to imagine, but it happened. Yes true believers, the stars and planets aligned so perfectly that the Greensboro Gallagher boys got to meet, get a picture and shake hands with Stan “The Man” Lee, the creator of Spider-Man, Daredevil, The X-Men, Incredible Hulk and many more superheroes, at HeroesCon in Charlotte on Sunday, June 24th 2012. He was so nice to the boys. We have officially made him a member of the family!
We did not expect to see Stan at all, because I thought tickets to see him were all sold out and too expensive; however, I found out, after asking since it was not advertised at all, that photos with him were $40. Not bad for something that may never happen again to us. Liam, my oldest son and the one in the yellow DC Comics t-shirt, was really nervous.
When we entered the photo area, I asked Stan how he was and he replied “Great!” I also asked if he was enjoying Charlotte and he said “I sure am.” We then gathered around him, I put my arm around the back of his shoulder and we got our photo. Afterwards, both boys shook his hand, looked him in the eyes and genuinely told him thank you.
The picture looks just like a family photo. Lol! Excelsior!
