Young NC Snapping Turtle

Look what Ruby and I found on our morning walk. After heavy rains, snapping turtles usually come out of Reedy Fork Creek. We caught this one sunning. We also found places where it was digging in the dirt, most likely, for tasty treats like grubs and earthworms.

Mr. Snapping Turtle was taking a sunbath.

We came back and he had moved across the walking path. I don’t think he was pleased to see us again.

Ruby was really interested.
