Disney’s A Christmas Carol Train Tour came to Spencer, NC on October 9th and 10th and we got a chance to see it. My boys and I arrived in Spencer on rainy Saturday morning around 11:00 am. The train was parks in front of the North Carolina Transportation Museum in downtown Spencer.
Disney’s traveling advertisement for Jim Carrey’s motion capture feature is a pretty decent day’s adventure if you have about two hours available to spend waiting in line. There were so many people!
The line did move fast and the crowd of people were well organized in good Disney fashion. If you have been to Walt Disney World, you know how well Disney handles large crowds and is able to move them pretty easily. We were immediately told by a Disney Cast Member where we could find the end of the line. The line was divided into three roped sections. A sign at the end of the line (or the enterance to the first roped section) stated that the wait time to get on the Disney train was two hours! Immediately I thought that my two boys would not be able to take such a long time in line, but I decided to take the chance. Luckily, the line moved pretty quickly.
There were even Christmas carolers dressed in 1800 outfits!
I saw this message posted on the back of one of the Disney Christmas Carol Train box cars. What is not supposed to be humped? My mind is always in the gutter.
After a two hour wait in line, we are finally going inside the Disney Christmas Carol Train!
There was a place in the train where you can get your photo taken and morphed into a Christmas Carol character. Here are the results:
After visiting the Disney Christmas Carol train, we went across the street and ate lunch at a nice little hamburger joint called Our Place Cafe. I had chicken salad on toasted rye bread. It was really good!
Here is the inside of Our Place Cafe located in downtown Spencer, North Carolina.
On our way back home, I decided to head up to Burlington (which is near our house) and go to the Starbuck’s near Elon University and pick up some groceries at Lowes Foods and a movie at the Redbox kiosk. The boys and I had a pumpkin spice latte. I love those drinks!
